The Circle Music hat die einflussreiche schwedische Melodic-Death-Metal-Band Gates of Ishtar unter Vertrag genommen. Gates of Ishtar gilt als eine der am meisten unterschätzten Bands des Genres und steht kurz vor einem triumphalen Comeback mit ihrem ersten neuen Album seit fast drei Jahrzehnten.

Nach 17 Jahren Stille wuchs die Vorfreude auf eine Reunion. Ein geplantes Comeback im Jahr 2015 scheiterte zwar am Tod von Schlagzeuger Oscar Karlsson, doch Gates of Ishtar feierten im November 2023 mit einem kraftvollen Auftritt im House of Metal endlich ihr Comeback. Die überwältigende Resonanz der Fans bei diesem Konzert entzündete den Funken für neue Musik und führte zur Entscheidung, ein neues Album aufzunehmen.

The Circle Music is ecstatic to welcome Gates of Ishtar to their roster. "If there was a list of the most underrated bands in metal, Gates of Ishtar would hold a prominent place,” states the record label. “It's been almost 30 years since their legendary debut 'A Bloodred Path' appeared, and still remains in the pantheon of melodic death metal. Life often plays strange games. One thing is certain: Gates of Ishtar is owed a lot and they are coming back determined to claim it all, one by one. Gates of Ishtar themselves are equally enthusiastic about this new chapter. "The gates are open once more!!! We are super excited to work together with Maria and The Circle Music to bring you our new album! It will be the first new release in almost 3 decades and we have put all our hearts and souls into this beast of an album," the band comments. "The process of writing this new material has been a joyful experience and it didn't take more than a minute to realise that we still had that magic flow between us all in the band. We can't wait to hear your response to it and hopefully we meet you all out there in 2026! Hail Inanna!"

Gates of Ishtar gaben kürzlich ein überwältigendes Live-Konzert in ihrer Heimatstadt Luleå, was die Bedeutung ihrer Rückkehr noch verstärkt. Dieser Auftritt fiel mit dem 30. Jahrestag ihres allerersten Konzerts an gleicher Stelle zusammen und markierte einen eindrucksvollen Moment für die Band, in dem sich der Kreis schloss.
