The band had the following to say about the release:
We’re thrilled to announce our collaboration with Nameless Grave Records for the vinyl release of Apocryphal Verse and Sullen Cadence. Though these albums will be released four years apart, they were recorded in close succession and are intended to be experienced as a unified, full-length work.
"Sonically, this record picks up where we left off with our previous band Vex, but leans further into atmosphere, dramatic tension, and focused songwriting. Stylistically, it’s a heartfelt tribute to the era of bold experimentation that defined extreme metal in the 1990s—when bands like Sentenced, Amorphis, Tiamat, Katatonia, Dark Tranquillity, Anathema, Paradise Lost, Rotting Christ, and many others were fearlessly evolving their sound from album to album. That period sparked passionate debate and creative energy, and it was electrifying to witness and be part of.
Our aim was to channel the spirit of those transformative records and reinterpret it through the lens of our own musical journey—crafting something that feels both reverent and personal.
Similar to 'Sullen Cadence,' the lyrics of Apocryphal Verse explore the ways in which the course of a human life can be forever marked by the sudden onset of traumatic situations that are equal parts perplexing and unfamiliar."
