Die schwedischen Death Metaller von AS YOU DROWN haben Rat King – welches am 7. bzw. 10. Oktober 2011 erscheinen wird - als Titel ihres anstehenden neuen Albums auserkoren. Der Nachfolger des 2009er Debüts wurde im bandeigenen AYD Studio in Borås, Schweden produziert und von Plec (WATAIN, SCAR SYMMETRY, MISERATION) in den Panic Room Studios in Skövde im Juli 2011 gemischt und gemastert.Textlich taucht das Album tief in das mittelalterliche deutsche Phänomen der Rattenkönige ein, die immer wieder im Zusammenhang mit Plagen, die den europäischen Kontinent heimgesucht haben, auftauchen.
