 "The Funeral Pyre", das Debütalbum der schwedischen Black Metaller KVAEN, erscheint am 28.02.2020 bei Black Lion Records.
Die Band ist ein Solo-Projekt von Jakob Björnfot, seines Zeichens Gitarrist von THE DUSKFALL.
Den siebenminütigen Titelsong sowie einen weiteren Song könnt ihr jetzt schon antesten.
In den Titeln sind Sebastian Ramstedt (Necrophobic, Nominon) und Freddy Ortscheid (Black Lily, Omnicide) als Gäste zu hören.
Musikalisch soll es sich bei KVAEN um eine Mischung aus Black und Speed Metal mit Pagan-/Viking-Einflüssen handeln.
Jakob Björnfot von KVAEN kommentiert: “‘The Funeral Pyre’ was one of the first songs that I composed for this album. I lived in a big house on a huge mountain in the VERY north of Sweden. I had nature around me everyday. It was very inspiring, to say the least. One day, I was messing around on my computer, trying out ideas. I remember that I had the fireplace burning and it was snowing outside. I wanted to write a song where I could feel the connection of spirits in Tornevalley and I have to say: I succeeded. The atmosphere, Sebastian’s solo, and the lyrics became something truly unique.”

War zwar nicht meine Entdeckung aber dennoch will ich das mal hier posten.
Den Song " The Funeral Pyre" finde ich echt starkt, wenngleich alles sehr melodisch ist.
Den Song "Yee Naaldlooshii" finde ich nicht so geil.

KVAEN das Soloprojekt von J. Björnfot ist aktuell zu den Aufnahmen für ein neues Album im Studio.
Das Melodic Black Speed Metal Projekt des Schweden hatte in 2020 das Debütalbum "The Funeral Pyre" veröffentlicht.

 Nach dem Debütalbum "The Funeral Pyre" von 2020 werden die Schweden KVAEN am 25.03.2022 ihr nächstes Album "The Great Below" via Black Lion Records an den Start bringen.
Hierzu hat die Band heute die brandneue Single "The Great Below" veröffentlicht.
"The Great Below" wurde von Owe Inborr gemixt und gemastert.
Als Gäste sind auf dem Album zu hören: Mike Wead, Jeff Loomis, Sebastian Ramstedt, Angus Norder, Nephente Fridell und Vreth (Finntroll).
Kvaen sind Jacob Björnfot und Tommi Tuhkala. Fredrik Andersson (ex Amon Amarth) ist als live Drummer mit an Bord.
Jacob Björnfot: » The Great Below is a violent mix of teutonic thrash, melodic black metal and chaotic speed metal and was one of the first songs I wrote for the album. I had the chorus written in my head, the melody was so catchy and when I sang the guitar line it all made perfect sense. The solo performed by Jeff Loomis gave the song a new life! Thank you, Jeff! «
