Nach der Veröffentlichung ihres vierten Albums Nuklearth im Jahr 2020 schlägt das Nuklearquintett Cytotoxin mit ihrem fünften Album Biographyte zurück. Die Band setzt ihr musikalisches und lyrisches Konzept fort und beschäftigt sich mit dem katastrophalen Vorfall im Kernkraftwerk Tschernobyl im Jahr 1986. Das neue Anlbum erscheint am 11. April 2025.With their new record, Cytotoxin explore their roots and takes listeners on a journey through the radiated wasteland of Pripyat. Biographyte dedicates each song to a memorable location, thus narrating the biographical story of the tragic catastrophe in 1986 and those who were affected. Symbolically depicted in the cover artwork, humanity is doomed to carry the consequences of the reactor disaster with it for eternity. The title track itself reflects the situation of firefighters picking up graphite bricks on the night of the explosion, causing irreversible damage to their skin and bodies, which often led to fatalities.
Cytotoxin have recently announced brand new EU/UK tour dates for April and May this year, together with Gutalax (on selected dates), Acranius, Necrotted and Osiah. A full list of confirmed shows can be found below.
