Drummer Haimatokharmes über die erste Single The Third Secret of Fatima: "One of the songs Metal Blade will be promoting for the album is The Third Secret of Fatima. We are especially proud of this one on account of its synthesis of blast, melody, ritual drums, all played in the old fashion. Longtime fans know it from our self-released ‘Fatima EP’ and I must say it is the song people usually tell us is their favorite out of the trinity. The lyrics are a collaborative effort (written in English and Coptic), but they are straight old-school Satanism, a blend of blasphemy and devil-worship. Bless!"

Drummer Haimatokharmes weiter über Artwork und Layout von The Way of Descent: "IPSISSIMUS is very pleased to present the artwork for our upcoming Metal Blade debut, The Way of Descent. The cover, by Brooklyn, NY artist Micki Pellerano ( http://www.mickipellerano.wordpress.com) features all manner of ritual act, executed by man and beast, conjuring an apparition of the Egyptian fertility goddess Hathor. (IPSISSIMUS heartily endorses procreation as well as annihilation). I might add that the inlay features a ‘Satanic Seraph’ design, conceived by myself while reading the Niebelungenslied on a train in Rhein-Westphalia, brilliantly executed by artist Michel Jansen, of Amsterdam, the Netherlands. (I liked this so much it’s now on my drum head!) Finally, the layout was designed by Brooklyn artist Alessandra Benedetti, who did a top-notch job on very little notice in giving the album a dirty yet unified look."

Über die Band:
IPSISSIMUS formierten sich, als sich His Emissary (guitars) und Haimatokharmes (drums) gemäß der Vorsehung am 06.06.06 zum ersten Mal begegneten und im jeweiligen Gegenüber ihre Möglichkeit fanden, ihre okkulten Philosophien in rituellen Black Metal zu verwandeln. Im November des gleichen Jahres vervollständigte Tichondrius (bass/vocals) die unheilige Dreifaltigkeit. Innerhalb von nur einem Monat spielten sie bereits Konzerte und veröffentlichten das Demo ‘Trampling the Host’, ein vielversprechendes Stück rohen, schnellen Schwarzmetalls. In den kommenden Jahren festigten sie in ganz Neu-England ihren Ruf für heftige Liveauftritte und teilten sich die Bühne sowohl mit lokalen, als auch mit international angesehenen Acts wie Nachtmystium, Enslaved, Dark Funeral, Krallice und Watain. Im Februar 2008 brachten IPSISSIMUS in Eigenregie die EP ‘Three Secrets of Fatima’ auf den Markt, ein komplexes und melodisches Triptychon, das sie an die vorderste Front der aufkeimenden US Black Metal-Szene katapultierte. Ihre Songs erinnern an Reden voll schwarzer Frömmigkeit, die sich auf esoterische Traditionen (antike und modern) beziehen und oftmals in der altertümlichen Sprache der Alten selbst verfasst worden sind. IPSISSIMUS führen den Hörer mit einem einzigartigen und unwiderlegbaren US-Black-Metal-Statement ein in einen anderen Weg der Erkenntnis.

Ins Jahr 2010: Im Juni spielten IPSISSIMUS im Vorprogramm der legendären EYEHATEGOD und Nachtmystium die ‘Three Secrets of Fatima’-EP von Anfang bis Ende durch und ernteten enthusiastische Reaktionen. Kurz danach unterschrieben sie im Sommer 2010 einen weltweiten Deal mit Metal Blade Records und begaben sich ins Sonic Environments Studio in Bloomfield, um dort ihr Full Length-Debüt einzuspielen. Jeff Weed, einem langjährigen Freund von His Emissary, fiel dabei nicht nur die Rolle des Studiobesitzers, sondern auch die des "Klangalchemisten" (aka Engineer/Produzent) zu. IPSISSIMUS begannen mit dem Aufnahmen ihres Debüts um Juni 2010, machten eine kurze Pause und kehrten Ende August zurück, um die Arbeiten zu beenden. Ihr Debüt wird die komplette ‘Three Secrets of Fatima’-EP und drei neue Songs enthalten. Seitdem IPSISSIMUS das Studio verlassen haben, durften sie schon wieder die Bühnen mit Deströyer 666, Unearthly Trance, Black Pyramid und Suma teilen und einTeil der Boston Massachusetts Born of Fire Live-Serie mit Nachzehrer (inkl. Screening des okkulten Exploitation-Films "Alucarda") sein.
