Johan Hegg erzählt auf Metal Blade TV über das Konzept hinter Surtur Rising!

Heute feiert auf Decibel Magazine's Deciblog das neue Stück Slaves Of Fear, der vierte Song des neuen, sehnlichst erwarteten AMON AMARTH-Werkes Surtur Rising Premiere. Das achte Studioalbum der Könige des epischen Melodic Death Metal erscheint am 25./28. März in Europa auf Metal Blade.

Dabei handelt es sich bei Slaves Of Fear nicht um den typischen AMON AMARTH-Song. “It was one of the last songs we finished for the album and I think it adds some diversity by being a bit different”, führt Drummer Fredrik Andersson aus. "What makes this song a little bit different I think is the collaboration between me and Olavi as song writers, usually most songs are written by Olavi/Johan S. It's definitely one of the darkest songs we've ever written and the main/intro riff is my personal tribute to the passing of Ronnie James Dio as the riff came to me after listening to "Holy Diver". Lyrically it's about how religions keeps people under its control and keeps people from thinking for themselves. One of the most angry lyrics Johan has written and they kind of reminds me of "The sound of eight hooves" in a way. It works exceptionally well with the melancholic feel of the riffs."
