Nur wenige Grindcore-Bands haben sich so lange gehalten wie ROTTEN SOUND. Nachdem sie auf ihrem letzten Album dem Weltuntergang entronnen sind, melden sich die finnischen Grindcore-Veteranen mit einer weiteren politisch brisanten EP zurück. Die neueste Single von Mass Extinction ist etwas optimistischer als die ursprüngliche Veröffentlichung, doch „Idealist“ bringt seine Botschaft mit solcher Wucht rüber, dass man dem Appell der Band einfach Gehör schenken muss.
"'Idealist' is a cynical D-beat anthem about our fight for a better future", says the band's vocalist Keijo Niinimaa. "I do believe that better times are ahead, but it feels impossible to find a new level in humanity. The transition seems to take forever. That frustration led me to write the lyrics to this song. Mika's riffs and Sami's grooves open the circle into a mosh pit".
