Mighty Dutch Death Metallers GOD DETHRONED have finished the recordings for their sophomore new album ‘Under The Sign Of The Iron Cross’!The bands 9th album has been recorded at Soundlodge Studios in Leer, Germany.
Comments singer/guitarist Henri Sattler: “Just like with our two previous albums, we've been recording at the Soundlodge Studio's in Leer, Germany with producer Joerg Uken.
"Under the Sign of the Iron Cross" is another concept album about World War One. Having done a concept album about this topic before didn't make it an easy job, but reading Ernst Juenger's "In Stahlgewittern" (Storm of Steel), which is his biography of his daily experiences in the trenches during the war, gave me so much inspiration that I managed to do a good job on the lyrics and I'm really satisfied with the result, but this is of course something you will have to check out for yourselves.
Musically the new album turned out to be one of the most extreme records we ever did. Nevertheless with the very recognizable God Dethroned hooks present in all the songs.
Producer Joerg Uken outdid himself this time, because our new album is in my opinion the best produced album we ever had. Extremely raw, heavy, but crystal clear and super dynamic at the same time.”
‘Under The Sign Of The Iron Cross’ will be released the 19th/22nd of November 2010 via Metal Blade Records in Europe and on the 23rd of November in North America!

Hört sich ja schon mal sehr viel versprechend an, mal sehen wie Extreme das neue Album geworden ist ..... ich hoffe ja mal das es wieder einen Schritt "back to the bloody roots" geht

Comments singer/guitarist Henri Sattler on the title track: "The 1905 Schlieffen Plan made by the Prussian Count von Schlieffen after England signed the previous Entente Cordiale in 1904 with France. The plan was based on a battle between Hannibal and the Roman army in 216 B.C. that was later modified and eventually failed when put into practice. It remains uncertain if the changes to the Schlieffen Plan or the plan itself was the reason for not being successful."

Verdammte Axt, der neue Song ist ja ein echter Knaller Auch wenn der Cleanpart wieder klein wenig nervt, der Rest geht aber voll in die richtige Richtung. Schnell, fetzig, coole Gitarrenparts und ein geiler Songaufbau ..... FETT

Und obwohl mich der cleanpart gar nicht sooo stört, wusste ich, dass er euch voll aufn Sack geht

Naja gebraucht hätte ich den Part nicht wirklich, aber der Rest ist echt Hammer .... die Melodie geistert mir gerade ständig durch die Birne. Geil

Bis auf den besagten Zwischenpart klingt das fast wieder so wie zu "Liar of the white worm"-Zeiten. Gefällt mir.Im Rock Hard schrieben die auch schon, dass es wieder nach vorne geht. Gut so

Finde das Lied auch sehr geil und ich finde die Clean Parts wären zwar verzichtbar, passen aber dennoch gut in den Song! Ein Glück ist die Band von diesem scheiß "The Toxic Touch" Geschwurbel wieder weg! Das sit für mich echt der absolute Tiefpunkt in der GD Diskographie.

Der Song klingt wie ein echter "God Dethroned" nur der clean Part hätte man sich sparen können.

Na ja das Geschwurbel hatten sie ja zum Glück schon bei Passiondale wieder abgelegt. Bin echt mal gespannt auf das Album, hoffe das der Song stellvertretend für den Rest der Songs steht.

Junge was is das ein Hackbrett. Brutaler hab ich GD glaub noch nie gehört. Der Song geht in Richtung "< Poison Fog >" vom Vorgänger (welches auch Cleanparts hatte die aber super gepasst haben). Aber es ist unverkennbar God Dethroned, das erkennt man am gesamten Song. Das macht richtig Vorfreude auf die fertige Scheiblette. Ich hoffe das wird so ein Nackenbrecher wie der White Worm. @Dän: Jo die Toxic Touch war bis auf einen Song richtig Grütze. Dagegen ist dieser eine Song schon besser als das gesamte Toxic-Album
Ach ja, und sehr schade das Susan nicht mehr dabei ist.

Geile Band, geile Mucke (ok, außer Toxic Touch), sympathische Mannen...
Vielleicht überlegen sie es sich ja doch noch mal, wären ja nicht die ersten, die nach "ich mach nie wieder Musik" auf einmal wieder im Studio standen. Die Hoffnung stirbt zuletzt...
Hoffentlich gibt's dann wenigstens noch nen Gig in der Nähe
