Seit Anfang September befinden sich die schwedischen Extreme Metaller (nein sie wollen nicht als Black Metal Band bezeichnet werden) SHINING in Andy La Rocque's Sonic Train Studios um ihr neues Album aufzunehmen. Nachdem Sänger Niklas Kvarforth Anfang der Woche seinen Part abgeschlossen hat, ist das Album nahezu komplett aufgenommen.Erscheinen wird die noch unbetitelte Scheibe Anfang 2015 via Season Of Mist.

The release date of SHINING’s ninth full-length album, which will be titled “IX / Everyone, Everything, Everywhere, Ends” and will appear on Season of Mist, has been set for the 20th April.
Commenting on the album, SHINING’s founder and frontman NIKLAS KVARFORTH had this to say: “For once I am extremely pleased with how the album turned out and I believe that the fevered presence of filth and uncompromising darkness is more prominent than ever before. Not only will our more recent fan-base “enjoy” the oppression contained therein but I am also certain that those who stopped listening to SHINING after our fifth album will find the new one plague-ridden with what some might have felt was lacking on the more recent efforts… that atmosphere of old”.
SHINING has also re-launched their website which has undergone a complete makeover by the Japanese design company Ogino Design (http://oginodesign.com/ ) who will also be responsible for keeping the site regularly updated with news, live listings etc. , under supervision from the band. Kvarforth recently announced that long-time SHINING collaborator Martin Strandberg, who was responsible for the videos for “Tillsammans Är Vi Allt” and “Förtvivlan, Min Arvedel” from the band’s seventh full length album “VII / Född Förlorare”, and who is currently working on a documentary about the band, is directing a video for a track from “IX / Everyone, Everything, Everywhere, Ends”. With the release date of SHINING's ninth full-length album “IX - Everyone, Everything, Everywhere, Ends” set for the 20th of April on Season of Mist, a track from the album has been debuted today. Commenting on the track, Kvarforth had this to say: "The time has come to share a little bit of the darkness that will infect the world's population in a few months. The song chosen for this specific event is called "Vilja & Dröm". The track reminds me of our earlier days, when I was still mostly focusing on metal. However, it also represents a great leap into the terrible shift-shaping darkness that is our ninth album!" Cover art for “IX - Everyone, Everything, Everywhere, Ends” is by the Italian artist Daniele Serra ( < http://www.multigrade.it/ > ) who recently won an award for the best cover art for a comic with his Pinhead painting for the "Hellraiser Bestiary" . Das 9. Full length Album "IX / Everyone, Everything, Everywhere, Ends" von SHINING erscheint heute via Season of Mist und wird von der Band mit einer Deutschland Tour im November 2015 promoted. Als Support werden IMPERIUM DEKADENZ und DER WEG EINER FREIHEIT mit von der Partie sein.Frontmann Niklas Kvavorth erklärte, dass die Band bessere Shows abliefern kann wenn man kleinere Touren macht. Wochenlanges Touren mit Leuten die man nicht kennt und ohne jede Privatsphäre in unkomfortablen Nightlinern sei definitiv nicht das was man weiterhin machen möchte. Ebenso möchte man nicht mehr unbedingt in Locations spielen die von jeder Tour bedient werden. Lieber suche man sich die Locations aus die für die Band und auch für die Fans anständige Bedingungen bieten.
Hier die Message im O-Ton: » Basically we want to be able to give our audience the best show possible each time we are on stage. And weeks on the road stuck on a cramped, uncomfortable nightliner, with people you don’t even know and with no privacy in which to be able to rest and relax, is not conducive to any of us being able to give it our best on stage, particularly myself. So that’s something we will definitely not be doing.
We have also decided that we do not want to be shunted into the usual venues that every tour seems to hit, but rather to choose to play better venues, with better facilities not only for ourselves, but also for the audience, wherever possible. «

Ganz nach dem Ray Bradbury Motto "something old and wicked this way comes" kommt nun doch Bewegung in das lange Zeit immer wieder verschobene SHINING Album "Oppression". Es soll im September 2018 erscheinen und kommt als Digipak und als limitiertes Gatefold Vinyl in verschiedenen Farben."Oppression" erscheint beim neu gegründeten Black Metal Label Colourless Art, SHINING Gründer und Frontmann kommentiert die Veröffentlichung:
» For too long, some of my work has been in limbo due to idiotic decisions and the worthless people that proliferate throughout the music industry. And this needs to end here and now. We want our jewels of perdition and the attendant horrific sound to reach all of those who, without SHINING's merchandising arm, Legions, cannot get their hands on these without being fobbed off with soulless products of inferior quality, that some outsider has had the nerve to spread without a single thought for our artistic vision". «
"Oppression" ist eine Sammlung von raren Titeln und Outtakes, größtenteils aus den Anfängen der Band. Enthalten ist die Debüt 7", diverse pre-production Songs, elektronische Experimente von Meister Kvarforth himself und der gesuchte Studiotrack "Through Corridors Of Oppression".

Kvarforth zur Zukunft von Shining und was er noch vor hat: » there is a lot happening right now. We are currently setting up upcoming tours for SHINING, working with all sorts of crazy shit, while I myself will be recording with a very big Death Metal band, publishing the German edition of "When Prozac No Longer Helps" at long last, and getting myself into shape for the shooting of a feature horror movie this summer.

Die Schweden SHINING bringen ihr 11. Album am 15.09.2023 via Napalm Records an den Start. Die Scheibe wird 6 neue Track beinhalten und den Bandnamen tragen und somit "Shining" heißen.
