Vocalist Gaahl (lyrics) and King (bassist/composer) will continue the scheduled European tour in November under the name Gorgoroth with a replacement for Infernus.
King and Gaahl will continue to work together musically, performing their art live and recording in the future. This decision was reached by Gaahl and King as they have been the driving force behind Gorgoroth's music for the past 8 years.

Infernus has stated he will take King and Gaahl to court over future use of the name Gorgoroth.

I have registered some concern from friends and fans about the upcoming European tour in November because of the last day’s happenings. I can guarantee that the tour will go on as scheduled.
Gorgoroth has not split up but continued on in a different form. We will do this tour in honor of our working partners, booking agency, promoters and the audience who already bought tickets to the concerts. The alternative would be cancellation, which under no circumstance would I allow at this point in time.
Originally I had the intension of leaving Infernus with some sort of integrity. The way this case has developed I have no other choice but to reveal some of the reasons why I can no longer work with him.
First and foremost, it’s the disrespect he has shown our working partners; record labels, session-musicians, promoters (by sending unserious demands in raiders etc.) and producers we have worked with over the years which has lead to this decision.
In addition, he has not been a creative force for the last 8 years. He has shown no interest in the art defining Gorgoroth during that same period of time. He has not shown up for rehearsals and has broken agreements on several occasions. This is also an important reason in explaining why he is not part of Gorgoroth at the time being. He has broken the codex of honor and is not living by his own rules, the rules he set for himself and his surroundings on all levels.
I have tried for several years my best to continue in the original form in hopes for a change and I have done so in honor of his previous work in Gorgoroth and the fact that he is the founding member. I..ve hoped that he would become the artist he once was several years ago and I’ve realized that it will never happen. It’s gotten to a point were King and I can’t create a fire as long as someone is there pouring water over it.
I..m not personally involved in the formal part of this, but we have prepared for any given result of this matter. I know our partners have worked on our behalf preparing for what we knew would happen, for example, preparing the legal name copyright and other formal tasks. I’ll let the lawyers on both sides argue as much as they want. What is the truth is the truth --- and whoever claims otherwise is a false prophet and will be treated accordingly.
We have reached the conclusion to continue Gorgoroth as a duo because the alternative would be no Gorgoroth at all at this time. King and I have given Gorgoroth content for the last 8 years and will bring our art with us into the future. We are already on our way to start a new and improved area of our work. You will, in the following weeks, be presented our agenda to continue to spread true Norwegian black metal through recordings and concerts. We will, with or without the name Gorgoroth, raise the flame higher and brighter than ever.
The past defines the future, but sometimes you must leave something behind to be able to grow.

Ich habe ein paar Bedenken von Freunden und Fans bezüglich der Tour erhalten. Auf Grund der aktuellen und doch so kurzfristigen Neuigkeiten sind diese Bedenken zwar verständlich, jedoch kann ich persönlich dafür garantieren, dass die Tour wie geplant stattfindet.

Gorgoroth haben sich nicht getrennt, sondern machen nur in einer anderen Aufstellung/Formation weiter. Die Tour soll unseren Dank gegenüber unseren Kollegen, unserer Booking Agentur, Promotern, Freunden und vor allem unsere Fans die bereits ihre Konzertkarten gekauft haben zeigen. Die Alternative wäre, die Tour zu streichen, was ich zum derzeitigen Zeitpunkt jedoch unter keinen Umständen erlauben würde.

Meine eigentliche Absicht war es, mich mit Anstand von Infernus zu trennen. Bedenke ich jedoch das Ausmaß welches diese Geschichte nun angenommen hat, ist es mir jedoch nicht länger möglich, ein paar der Gründe warum ich weitere Zusammenarbeit mit ihm verweigere offen zu legen.

Als erstes möchte ich betonen, dass der Umgangston von Infernus äußerst respektlos war. Die Art und Weise, wie er mit Kollegen, Plattenfirmen, Musikern, Promotern (hier z.B. besonders die unrealistischen Rider-Forderungen), Produzenten etc umgegangen ist konnte nicht länger toleriert werden.
Auch möchte ich sagen, dass er die ganzen vergangenen 8 Jahre keinen wirklichen kreativen Eigenanteil geleistet hat. Er hat weder Interesse an der Kunst die Gorgoroth ausmacht gezeigt, noch ist er zu Proben aufgetaucht. Auch Vereinbarungen wurden mehrmals nicht eingehalten. Er hat den Ehrenkodex gebrochen und hält die Regeln, die er selbst aufgestellt hat, nicht ein. Wir können uns weder noch auf ihn verlassen, noch können wir ihm vertrauen. Dies sind schwerwiegende Gründ dafür weshalb Gorgoroth momentan ohne Infernus weitermacht.

Ich habe nun viele Jahre versucht, die originale Formation Gorgoroths beizubehalten, allein schon wegen meinem Respekt vor der vorherigen Arbeit von Infernus und dem Wissen, dass er eines der Gründungsmitglieder war. Ich habe mir lange Zeit gewünscht, dass er wieder der Künstler wird, der er einst war.., habe mittlerweile jedoch realisiert, dass dies wohl niemals mehr geschehen wird. Wir sind an dem Punkt angelangt an dem es unmöglich ist, zusammen mit King ein Feuer zu entfachen wenn von jemand anderem immer wieder Wasser drüber gegossen wird.

Ich persönlich bin zwar nicht am formalen Teil beteiligt, wir sind jedoch auf alles was kommen mag vorbereitet. Wir wussten, was uns allen bevorsteht und haben uns -zusammen mit Partnern und Kollegen- dementsprechend vorbereitet, zu dem unter anderem das Sichern des Copyrights bezüglich des Band Namens und andere Formalitäten gehören. Die Anwälte beider Seiten können sich streiten soviel sie wollen; Die Wahrheit ist die Wahrheit, und wer Anderes behauptet lügt und wird dementsprechende Folgen wahrnehmen können.

Wir haben uns dazu entschlossen, Gorgoroth zu diesem Zeitpunkt als Duo fortzuführen, denn die Alternative wäre gar kein Gorgoroth. King und ich werden Kunst weiterhin durch Gorgoroth "an den Mann bringen", wie wir es auch in den vergangenen acht Jahren gemacht haben. Wir sind bereits dabei, an einer neuen und verbesserten Version unseres Werks zu arbeiten. In den folgenden Monaten werdet ihr noch mehr Norwegischen Black Metal erhalten, der euch in form von Live-Auftritten und neuen Aufnahmen näher gebracht werden wird. Wir werden die Flamme heller und stärker leuchten lassen, mit oder ohne dem Namen Gorgoroth.

Nick Barker (ex- Dimmu Borgir, Cradle of Filth, Testament) will play drums on Gorgoroth's upcoming tour across Europe beginning November 2007. In addition to Nick, guitarist Teloch (Nidingr, Umoral, 1349) will again return to Gorgoroth's live assault, while guitarist Sykelig completes the group's 2007 live line up.

As announced earlier, Hellhammer (Mayhem) will join Gorgoroth on drums beginning in 2008.

Regain Records has finally decided how to go further with the Gorgoroth matter.
Regain Records will continue the co-operation with the bands original member Infernus with a new line-up. This new line-up will be announced by Infernus through the new official website < www.gorgoroth... > Regain Records recognizes Infernus as the rightful owner of the bands name, logo and trademark, and is prepared to take any legal steps necessary to prevent any 3rd part from exploiting it, artistically and commercially. A long time commitment between Infernus and Regain Records has been signed and Gorgoroths next album entitled "Quantos Possund Ad Satanitatem Trahunt" - as well as the follow-up - will be released on Regain Records.

Infernus has now chosen to present his new line-up. This new line-up consists of dedicated and serious musicians with healthy attitudes and personalities, musicians whom he has had the honour of being acquainted with for some years now. Infernus has high hopes and ambitions for his future collaboration with these musicians. Tomas Asklund (Dissection) and Frank Watkins (Obituary) should need no further introductions. The work on "Quantos Possund ad Satanitatem Trahunt" will continue according to schedule, and rehearsals will begin in Stockholm in the summer of 2008. In the pre-production stage, Infernus will enlist the help of, among others, Tormentor, who wrote the title tracks of both the "Destroyer" and "Incipit Satan" albums. As previously stated, the legal proceedings which have already been instituted will continue as planned. Infernus and Regain Records have decided to appeal the decision of the Norwegian Patent Office's 1st department, and this appeal will be independently handled by the 2nd department of the Patent Office. It is important to point out that as long as this matter is under appeal, the current ownership decision is not in any way final. Infernus and Regain are also ready to take the artists formerly known as "The Force Gorgoroth" to court. Seeing as how the 1st department's decision is being appealed, and that the trademark ownership is as yet unresolved, it would be prudent of 3rd parties like record labels, booking agencies and online social networking websites to wait the situation out until a final decision has been reached - this to avoid any future litigations from Infernus and Regain Records.

Gaahl was born in the village of Espedal, Fjaler, Norway in 1975.
He has a reputation as an enigmatic character, and has been involved with black metal since 1992. He has been in bands such as Gaahlskagg, Trelldom, Sigfader and Gorgoroth. This is the first time ever that he will conduct a live interview in front of an audience.

GOD SEED ist der neue Name der Band um Gaahl und King, zu der übrigens auch Schlagzeuger Frost (Satyricon), Gitarrist Teloch (Ex -1349 und Gorgoroth) und Ice Dale (Enslaved) gehören.
