Raging Death - Raging Death
Für dieses Review haben wir unseren Freund Cristhyano, gebürtiger Brasilianer, von den Londoner old school Deathern DECREPID als Gastschreiber gewinnen können. Also lest hier wie das Album in England/Brasilien aufgenommen wird…

For many reasons Its always a bit harder to review any band debut album, the fact that you haven't heard of the band before or any of their stuff could either surprise or disappoint.
Raging Death self entitled album is their first full length effort, released by Punishment 18 Records from Italy, after two previous independent demo releases.
Coming from Poland you wouldn't necessarily expect any band heavily influenced by the Bay Area thrashers from the early 80s, the usual sound expected  coming from Poland would be the technical death metal or black metal from bands like Behemoth / Graveland just to name a few.
Raging Death does indeed the unusual and waves the thrash metal flag quite high.
The Slayer/Anthrax influences are in your face from beginning to end, the fast paced drums and thundering picking gives more than an electrical energy to the album.
The vocals blends a mix of a Tom Araya and Joey Belladonna screams and the whole album seems to flow quite nicely but not necessarily catchy, with that said, when you play the most popular style of metal, there are loads of demanding fans out there, hard to please and a fierce competition with the old giants of the style, plus loads of new comers to compete with.
As Thrash metal is,  in a way, "fashionable" again on the last few years. Raging Death's debut is a decent effort, the hunger is there and the intention is also good,  but production wise lacks a little bit of that punch needed for this particularly style.
Raging Death has all the elements to make it right, but the blend is unbalanced, but I reckon, If they decide to persist, they will, without a doubt, get all the elements going and eventually get the formula right and the recognition deserved, but like the old saying "its a long way to the top if you want to  rock and roll".
The artwork is nicely done, you can't really go wrong when an album covers involves the Death, a cemetery and a semi naked bird, so give these boys a chance and have a listen. I am hopeful that I will hear from them soon gain. Thrash on!
