Black Metal mit Electro/Industrial? Das hatten wir doch vor kurzem erst...Die Franzosen von Spektr hatten mit "Cypher" vor kurzem ein Album der selben Kategorie veröffentlicht, ebenso bei Agonia Records. Aber dennoch macht man sich nicht zu Konkurrenten, da "Dirty" noch mehr im Black Metal zu Hause ist als "Cypher".
Das italienisch - norwegische Trio vermischt den frühen Black Metal mit diversen elektronischen Spielereien und Störgeräuschen, experimentell rotzfrech wird einfach überall was dazugepackt oder drübergelegt, und trotzdem passt es gut zusammen. Was auch daran liegt das das BM Grundgerüst stimmt, die Drums sind nicht elektronischer Herkunft sondern analog und eingetrümmert worden von Ex Emperor Mitglied Bard “Faust” Eithun. Dazu gibts trotzdem noch Beats aus der Konserve, Sänger Fabban sorgt mit seinem Kreischgesang dann wieder für den schwarzmetallischen Ausgleich. Der dritte im Bunde ist dann Paolo Pieri, bekannt von Hour Of Penance und verantwortlich für die Gitarrenarbeit.
Extrem ist das Album auf jeden Fall, zieht seine Härte aber eben nicht nur aus dem heftigen Black Metal Anteil sondern auch aus den harschen elektronischen Klängen. Vielleicht könnte man Atari Teenage Riot zur Einordnung zur Hilfe nehmen, aber so ganz passt das auch nicht. Wenn Fabban normal singt wirds leicht Nine Inch Nails ähnlich, die Betonung liegt auf "ähnlich".
Und auch wenn das ganze jetzt sehr konfus und durcheinander klingt, so ist es dennoch ein homogenes und stimmiges Album, ob man dazu dann headbangt oder abzappelt das ist ja jedem selbst überlassen. Ein Album das einem Albtraum gleicht, ein Albtraum gefangen zwischen gestern (Black Metal) und morgen (Industrial/Electro). Trotzdem so schön das man nicht erwachen möchte.....
CD 2 wartet dann noch mit zwei Neueinspielungen auf, einem unveröffentlichtem Song und drei Coverversionen, die es aber nicht schaffen sich aus dem übermächtigen Schatten der Originale zu befreien da sie eben zu nah am Original sind. Seltsam und schade, wo man auf Cd 1 so toll experimentiert und frei kombiniert hat was die Instrumente hergeben, aber bei den Coversongs bleibt man blass und linientreu. Da wäre sicher mehr möglich gewesen.

Extreme/Industrial metal legends ABORYM, featuring musicians of Emperor and Hour Of Penance fame, have released a video-clip for the title-track of their new album, "Dirty". Ironic in its outcome, the video deals with a "distressing and confusional situation, blurring the borderline between nightmares, memories and drug inducted hallucinations" (Alberto Falcone, director). Featuring all three band members as well as actors, the clip was filmed in Italy and can be viewed at YouTube:< http://youtu.be/IGYqMjuyejc >
Commented by the video director, Alberto Falcone: "At the first listening of "Dirty" by Aborym, I got projected in a dark world, where I could see the worst of every human. My aim was to tell a distressing and confusional situation, blurring the borderline between nightmares, memories and drug inducted hallucinations. The Pub where the story is set becomes populated by different apathetic idiot savants, each and every of them isolated in their own desperation. The few interactions that exist between them turn tragically. And then there's Luna, who stands still and feels passively all that happens and surrounds her. It was a terrific experience to shoot this video and meet the band members of Aborym, especially because i'm a faithful fan since the release of Kali Yuga Bizzare."
