Stygian Temple will have new stuff at Hoth:STYGIAN TEMPLE (ger) - "In the Sign... MMXXIV" CD / T-Shirts / Patches
"In the Sign... MMXXIV" is neither a new STYGIAN TEMPLE album nor a repress, but their debut full-length "In the Sign of the Five Angles" with new artwork & layout, altered mix, new mastering as well as entirely different vocals, and many new vocal arrangements.
Regarded by the originators as limited, rather 'promotional' release, this record shall mark & materialize the band's resurrection in 2023, when vocalist & long-time partner in crime T.B. (Cold Earth, Thorybos,...) joined & finally completed the line-up after seven years of hiatus. To us, this 'updated' version not only maintains the remarkable qualities of the original's fundamentalist devil worship, but the more lethally sharpened sound in general as well as T.B.'s distinctive, hateful voice in particular elevate the album to almost frightening new levels of sinister intensity & vigorous tension - eventually, despite being old songs by name, resulting in what many may regard as a vastly different audial experience.
The CD release will commemorate STYGIAN TEMPLE's live ritual at House of the Holy Festival (Austria) on June 20th, 2024, alongside new merchandise. The digital release will be available for free via Sol Records bandcamp.
