Google translated:"Unfortunately, the French deathers of Affliction Gate have thrown in the towel after 10 years of band history and disbanded. Because of constant change of occupation and the associated lack of consistency, the band around L.Grief and Herostratos has been wiped out over time. After 3 EP's Severance (Dead to This World) 2008, Shattered Ante Mortem's Illusions 2012, Dying Alone 2016 and a Full-Lenght album Aeon of Nox (From Darkness Comes Liberation) in 2009, Affliction Gate did not go any further. Too bad about the band, because their honest death metal I have always appreciated over the years. The French did not want to say good - bye without a musical greeting and posthumously left a nice piece of Death Metal food with their EP "The Last Night Wandering". The EP starts with the song Tanglemoor and makes it clear that the Affliction Gate does not deviate a bit from its chosen path. Raw, honest mid-tempo Death Metal with a melodic riff that leads you through the whole song. Coupled with a slightly melancholic note and the vocal-heavy, rough organ of singer Herostatos, I'm feeling very well. Wollstonecraft works a bit dirtier, raw and scratchy riffs that have a nice live charm push the song really well forward and the very fine melodic lines do not let the feet stand still, fat thing! Last Night Wandering picks up speed and whips with straight riffing always nice forward, the Affliction Gate typical loosening passages are of course also represented and beautiful solos are on top. Herostratos is also fully in the element and refined the track again powerful and with raw old school edge. The last song Sunset is a fine Instumental which drenched with light melancholy sets the final point of the EP and the musical work of the band. Conclusion: With a crying and laughing eye, the raw piece of French Death Metal is started again from the beginning, because the EP just makes fun and shows that simple, honest and trend-free Death Metal has still lost none of its charm! Hail Affliction Gate!" Beitrag von UnDerTaker an 26.02.2019, 15:11
