Nach 14 erfolgreichen Jahren mit 7 gefeierten Studioalben, hat Mastermind Tuomas Saukkonen nun beschlossen, einen Schlussstrich unter seine Dark-/Melancholic-Melodic-Death-Metal-Band BEFORE THE DAWN sowie unter all seine anderen aktuellen Projekte wie BLACK SUN AEON, DAWN OF SOLACE und ROUTASIELU zu ziehen. “I’ve already been thinking about this for a few years”, so Tuomas. “At some point I realized I was keeping the band alive without feeling right anymore. I lost the passion to make music my own way. Now that BEFORE THE DAWN is done, it’s logical for me to clean the table completely and start building something from scratch again.”Was seine neuen Ziele anbelangt, erklärt der Multi-Instrumentalist: “From now on I’ll solely focus on my new band called WOLFHEART – all my attention and energy shall flow into it. My main intention is to create a band that combines BEFORE THE DAWN’s engery with the low-tuned, dark, heavy and epic atmosphere of BLACK SUN AEON.”
Am 23. Februar werden BEFORE THE DAWN, BLACK SUN AEON und ROUTASIELU im Rahmen einer Abschiedsshow im Finland Klubi im finnischen Lahti das letzte Mal auf der Bühne zu sehen sein.
Diesem Konzert wird eine kleine Unplugged-Tour durch Finnland vorausgehen, auf der Mitglieder von BEFORE THE DAWN und BLACK SUN AEON ein Best-Of-Akkustik-Set ihres Repertoires sowie eine Auswahl von DAWN-OF-SOLACE-Songs zum Besten geben werden:

Im weiteren Jahresverlauf werden Stay Heavy Records – das finnische Label von BEFORE THE DAWN – unter dem Titel “My Darkness” eine 3CD-Best-Of-Box mit Songs aller Bands von Tuomas veröffentlichten. Haltet euch hierüber durch die Homepage/Facebook-Seite der Band auf dem Laufenden.
Saukkonens letzte Worte gebühren allen Fans seiner Projekte: “Even though a lot of things will change, the music I’ve created will never disappear and I am working on new music at the moment, even though under a different name. I hope to see everybody in Lahti on the farewell show and after that many times at WOLFHEART shows. You´re the best!”
