Ritual itself was formed in 1993 and was very influential in the United States Black Metal scene with their first album, The Summoning in 1995. They continued with Demonic Winter Metal in 1997 and Soldiers Under Satan's Command in 1998, all three on Wild Rags.The band split up with several years passing. Ian picked up the mantle of Ritual alone and forged ahead to write songs that would become The Resurrection, continuing the proud
tradition of Ritual's black metal.
