Nach drei Jahren Arbeit haben die Black Metaller SATYRICON ihr neues Album "Deep calleth upon Deep" für den 22.09.2017 angekündigt.
Das nunmehr 9. Studioalbum der Band wurde in Oslo/Norwegen und Vancouver/Kanada im Frühjahr 2017 aufgenommen und von Mike Fraser, welcher bereits das 2006er Album "Now, Diabolical" bearbeitet hatte, gemixt. Veröffentlicht wird die Scheibe via Napalm Records.
"Deep calleth upon Deep" soll nicht nur ein weiteres Album der Band sein, sondern ein Auftakt zu einer brandneuen Ära in der Geschichte SATYRICON's.
Frontman und Visionär Satyr dazu: » Approaching this release, what I always kept in mind is that either this is the beginning of something new or it’s gonna be my last record. If this is going to be the last, then it needs to be something special. If there are more records, then I’d better make sure that this is so different from the last one that it feels like a new beginning. I think it’s really, really dark, very spiritual and filled with confidence and energy.«
Das Album Front Cover ist eine obscure Zeichung vom Norwegischen Künstler Edvard Munch aus dem Jahr 1898.
